This medicine is an oxazolidinone antibiotic used to treat confident humorless bacterial infections that are often resistant to other antibiotics.

How Taken

Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine may be used on an empty stomach or with food. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Therefore, take this drug at evenly spaced intervals. Continue to take this medication until the full-prescribed amount is finished even incase symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too beginning may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in a relapse of the infection. Inform your doctor incase your condition does not improve in 10 days.

Missed Dose

Incase you are currently using any of these medications, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting zyvox. Before using this medication, tell your doctor of all prescription as well as nonprescription medication you may take especially: other antibiotics, other drugs which can depress the bone marrow (e.g., cancer chemotherapy), other MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine). Likely Side Effects

Diarrhea, headache, nausea or vomiting, dizziness, trouble sleeping, or rash may occur. Incase these persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately incase you possess any of these unlikely but humorless side effects: easy bruising or bleeding, very bad headache, very bad dizziness, vision changes, tingling or numbness of hands/feet, fever, persistent sore throat, unusual fatigue. Take of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral or vaginal fungal infection). Contact your doctor incase you notice pale patches in your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge or other recent symptoms. Incase you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
